CANDLE TERMS
HOT THROW= Hot throw is the strength of a candle’s scent while it’s burning and the wax is warm.
COLD THROW= Cold throw is the strength of a candle’s scent when it’s not lit and the wax is completely cool.
BURN TIME= Burn time is the total number of hours a candle will burn from start to finish when used properly.
MELT POOL= A melt pool is the layer of melted wax that forms across the top of a candle while it’s burning.
MEMORY BURN= Memory burn refers to how a candle “remembers” the size of its previous melt pool, causing it to burn in the same pattern each time you light it.
BURN CYCLE= A burn cycle is the recommended amount of time you let a candle burn in one session so it melts evenly and performs at its best.
FRAGRANCE OIL= Fragrance oil is the concentrated blend of aromatic ingredients that gives a candle its signature scent.
SCENT NOTES= Scent notes are the individual layers of a fragrance—top, middle, and base—that blend together to create the candle’s full scent profile.
